Pet-friendly luxury cottages to rent in Devon
Good quality accommodation is always appreciated on holiday. Most of us make an instant assessment of the accommodation within the first few minutes of seeing it. Comfortable sofas and beds, attractive furnishings and elegant decor create that feeling of satisfaction. We can unpack and settle down to enjoy our holiday cottage in Devon.
Once settled in, it is interesting to explore, to wander around the garden, inspect the garden furniture, the barbecue and flower beds. I know that I am always pleased to find wisteria growing on the walls or a fragrant rose garden. Even a manicured lawn for the children to play on is most welcome.
It is also really nice to be able to take the dog on holiday and even better if there is an enclosed area to leave him in the knowledge that he will be looked after whilst we pop out shopping or for a day out with the children. Unfortunately, beaches that are safe for children tend not to be dog friendly and it is difficult to reconcile the two on holiday. Devon is one of our favourite holiday destinations because of the scenery, the beaches and the number of places to visit. Anyone with National Trust membership or an interest in gardens will love Devon.
Luxury self-catering in Devon with your dog
Looking after the dog is the easy part .
A family break in luxurious self-catering accommodation can be pleasantly satisfying if not wonderful, especially if there is enough to keep the children occupied. Devon teems with tourist attractions and for young children Crealy park is one of the best. It is also useful to stay on a small cottage park that provides leisure facilities for children. There are holiday parks such as the Colmer Estate in south Devon that have swimming pools, play parks, a games room and a variety of things for children to do. Children make friends very quickly on holiday and by renting a holiday cottage on a luxurious holiday park they will meet similar children to play with.
There are always trails and places to walk the dog on such a holiday estate. Or, if you choose to stay in an independent luxury holiday cottage, there are most likely quiet rural lanes or woodland for that lend themselves to a walk with the dog. A dog on holiday is a blessing because once out and about, we meet people and the dog creates an excuse to stop and chat.
