It follows old Devon railway routes and takes its title from Henry Willimason’s novel ‘Tarka the Otter’. The trail takes in some lovely unspoilt countryside and also towns and villages with their own attractions. The whole trail may take some doing but the stretch between Bideford and Barnstaple is recommended that includes the harbour town of Instow.
